Digital Producer (She/Her)

I’m Megan Kearney, the 19th’s digital producer. As a member of our audience team, I work on the promotion of the stories you’re reading every day and the keywords you’re searching to find them. I specialize in headlines, SEO and production, but my interests are rooted in journalism for all — centering your voices, earning your trust and turning the stories you’re reading into uniquely digital experiences.

I started my journalism career in 2017 after graduating from the University of Florida. I quickly fell in love with the fast-paced chaos of news and never looked back. Before landing at The 19th, I spent four years with Gannett working in production and planning roles in Southwest Florida and on the USA TODAY Network’s Digital Optimization Team.

Outside of The 19th, I’m passionate about mentorship, leadership and education. I’ve participated in Poynter’s Lead with Influence and Emerging Leaders programs and am currently serving as a career coach and an adjunct lecturer for audience engagement at my alma mater. (Go Gators!)

My work is free to consume and free to republish because of contributions from readers like you. A donation of $19 goes a long way toward sustaining our nonprofit newsroom.
