Chanel Cain is the audience engagement fellow for The 19th. Hailing from Seattle, Chanel earned a bachelor’s degree in media, journalism and film communications with a minor in playwriting from Howard University. Chanel was previously global content and programming coordinator for the Black-owned streaming service kweliTV.
She served as co-editor for Howard University News Service, and has covered culture, politics and campus events for the Hilltop, Truth Be Told magazine and the Seattle Medium.
