Hi there! I’m Abby Blachman, our technical product manager. I’ve been working at the intersection of product and technology at The 19th since 2020, first as a product engineer and then as an engineering manager. I helped launch 19thnews.org and have been building products and tools for our readers and staff members ever since.
Now I’m focused on using that experience to lead the development of the systems behind our products to keep them safe, usable and accessible to readers like you. In my day-to-day, I work with my team to deliver our journalism in a way that meets your needs and that keeps up with an ever-evolving technical and media landscape.
I live in Brooklyn, New York with my dog Charlie, where I enjoy gardening, ceramics and using my power drill for new projects.
