We have some exciting news at The 19th. Editor-at-large Errin Haines has signed a two-book deal with Simon & Schuster.
The first book was announced Friday in Publisher’s Marketplace. Tentatively titled “Twice As Good” and scheduled for publication early next year, Haines will chronicle the rise of Black women in American politics as voters, organizers and candidates through the lens of the historic ascent of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
The book will expand on Errin’s extensive reporting on Black women as the cornerstone of American politics. Her first story for The 19th in January 2020 was on Harris and how racial and gender dynamics derailed her promising presidential campaign during the Democratic primary. In August, Haines was the first reporter to interview Harris after the California senator broke barriers as the first woman of color to be the nominee of a major party for Vice President.
This is huge news for Errin and for The 19th, and we could not be more excited for her. Please join us in congratulating her!
