May Olvera is our inaugural fellow. She is a student at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, set to graduate in December 2020. She received an undergraduate degree in journalism from Texas State University and won a 2nd place award from the College Media Association for her breaking news coverage.
