We’re hiring a Development & Revenue Associate

Starting salary: $70,000 / year
Location: Open to remote anywhere in the US

Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer

The 19th is hiring a development and revenue associate to help coordinate fundraising activity and operations for our revenue team. In this critical role, you’ll help keep our revenue processes and internal systems running smoothly while helping to build efficiencies with how we approach our work in the future. You’ll be instrumental in supporting our daily work, as well as short and long term projects within the department. You should have some experience in revenue or development work, but more importantly, you should be eager to learn about the inner workings of philanthropic development and corporate sponsorship. You’ll support the CEO with key administrative functions, and the CFO with projects in which financial reporting and revenue intersect. You should have a genuine interest in this work and our mission, and in helping us grow our revenue operations while holding equity at the center of all you do.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Conducting research on existing and future donor, foundation and corporate philanthropy prospects
  • Managing our CRM; inputting and reconciling revenue data and running reports
  • Reaching out to prospects and coordinating calls, meetings and travel
  • Managing mass mailings and outreach, monthly thank you letters for donors (using our CRM’s capabilities) and other stakeholder communications.
  • Initiating donor visits and fundraising calls
  • Providing administrative support for fundraising activities and events
  • Gathering information for proposals and grants
  • Providing administrative support for sponsorships, advertising and speaking engagements
  • Writing meeting and event briefings
  • Supporting our Chief Financial Officer through our annual audit process, as well as for projections, financial reporting and GAAP requirements
  • Managing our Chief Executive Officer’s calendar with regards to fundraising and revenue activity
  • Providing administrative support for all department staff and revenue operations
  • Conducting speaking engagement research
  • Organizing the workflow of our department and helping to build efficiencies within revenue department processes
  • Embracing the mission of The 19th by articulating its values and vision to donors from a variety of backgrounds
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant skills include: 

  • 1-3 years in revenue, development, sales or equivalent experience
  • Experience with nonprofits, startups and remote environments a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, enjoys problem-solving and has a desire to learn new things
  • Thrives in an early-stage environment (we’re building things now)
  • Superior organizational skills, with exceptional follow-through on tasks, goals and deadlines
  • High proficiency with G-Suite, MS Office and productivity platforms
  • Proficiency with at least one CRM a plus
